We’re recruiting a Maintenance Surveyor in our South London region to deliver a professional surveying service, carry out pre & post-inspection and create reports for responsive repairs, void works and cyclical repairs.
You’ll be the face of Clarion for our customers, delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
With a recognised qualification in a property related discipline and a member of a relevant professional body, you’ll need a good knowledge of the Social Housing Sector and awareness of its regulations. You’ll also need a knowledge of building construction, building and regulatory standards, planning regulations, and health & safety

The Repairs & Maintenance Team oversee the delivery of our in-house and external repair service, ensuring providers deliver the service to Clarion’s customer standards and operate within the agreed price per property or price per void cost model. The team manages the complex repair programme, ensuring environmental health notices and legal disrepair cases are well managed to conclusion, and the business risks are minimised.
We’ll look to you to deliver a professional surveying service including overseeing major and complex disrepair works, responsive repairs, voids and aids & adaptations, carrying out diagnostic inspections, surveys & technical reports and providing accurate technical advice with competent and thorough surveys.
You’ll identify and manage insurance claims including property inspections and managing decants, liaising with loss adjusters and the insurance team, and you’ll be the technical lead during the handover of any new developments.
Other responsibilities include:
- Effective and efficient control budgetary spend of approx. £2m
- Deliver and effectively manage legal disrepair claims and Environmental Health Orders and provide detailed reports
- Ensure effective liaison with in-house service provider, M&E contractors and external sub-contractor staff to ensure the delivery of a top quartile service
You’ll hold a recognised qualification in a property related discipline such as a Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance Level 3, or a degree level qualification and preferably be a member of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CIOB.
You’ll need a good knowledge of the Social Housing Sector and awareness of its regulations and a demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building and regulatory standards, planning regulations, health & safety and other legislation relevant to asset management.
