Salary: Up to £34.400 depending on experience plus 20% unsociable hours allowance
Contract: Rail for London Infrastructure
The Maintenance Support Technician - Electrical is responsible for providing assistance with the delivery of safety of line inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, like for like renewal and enhancement works. This will include asset fault response, infrastructure inspection, asset data management and the safe delivery of reliability centred maintenance tasks.
The MST - Electrical will assist the infrastructure management teams ensuring that the new Elizabeth Line is maintained safely, efficiently and effectively, delivering defined performance requirements. The MST - Electrical is the support specialist to the Principal Maintenance Technician, completing auditing and assurance that ensures delivery of the Asset Management Plan providing systems stewardship and asset life improvements.
Key Accountabilities:
Support the delivery and execution of Infrastructure maintenance and renewal works including completion of infrastructure inspections, assurance and quality checks
Guide the MEP Delivery team with fault response and maintenance delivery tasks as defined by the Asset Maintenance Stewardship Plans
Ensure compliance with defined railway standards, processes, procedures and performance. The level of intervention includes defect rectification and safe completion of maintenance and renewals tasks
Assisting the Electrical Infrastructure Maintenance Team in their daily duties
Support technical analysis, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and auditing to deliver a safe, operable and reliable railway
Support evaluation of asset performance through asset review and data analysis & system evaluation
Knowledge:
NVQ Level 2 minimum, Railway apprenticeship scheme or equivalent qualification to develop into NVQ Level 3
Demonstrable understanding of the business structure of and agencies associated with the Rail Industry
Demonstrable application of railway safety-related standards regime and processes
Knowledge of electrical systems and components
Knowledge of maintenance methods and techniques for electrical assets
Appreciation of Risk Based Maintenance and its application on electrical assets
Knowledge of legislation, safety and standards
Knowledge of railway systems and related engineering disciplines (HV, Signalling, Telecoms
Skills:
Good communication skills explicitly with external contractors
Good decision-making and analytical skills
Established risk management skills
Good collaboration, communication, computational and practical skills.
Ability to identify and solve problems
Ability to prepare reports within their technical field and deploy solutions using evidence-based criteria
Experience:
Experience in the rail or other infrastructure and asset critical industries
Experience in the management of infrastructure stewardship and maintenance
Experience of working alongside other engineering functions
Experience as an E&M Maintenance Technician
Experience in the wider electrical industry
Understanding of auditing & quality assurance process
Working with LV distribution, UPS and BMS systems
