The Senior Injection Molding Maintenance Lead position has responsibility for the team engaged in plastics injection molding maintenance, automation, installations, preventative maintenance and other operations related equipment throughout the facility. This position will be the Lead for the maintenance/facilities department and will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, other members of operations, process engineering and mold/tooling repair departments. The Sr. Injection Molding Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing documentation and completion of scheduled preventative maintenance to support improved machine uptime and compliance for all equipment.
This position along with the Maintenance Manager have responsible for equipment maintenance, spare parts inventory, facilities cost control, coordinates contract services, supports operations product quality, FDA/ISO compliance and EH&S. This position promotes employee development, is agile and is a servant leader for internal and external customers. Medical device manufacturing experience with an understanding of FDA and ISO requirement strongly preferred.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prior experience as an injection molding Maintenance Engineer or injection molding Maintenance Lead is required. Track record of problem solving and solid decision making. Ability to lead cross-functional teams on projects. Working knowledge of injection molding, support equipment and facilities. Insures all production equipment is properly maintained to support the success of the operations team and site financial objectives. This position also has co-responsibility for site Environmental Health and Safety and hazardous waste disposal.
The Senior Injection Molding Maintenance Lead must have a good understanding of molds/tooling, machinery, electrical, processes, equipment maintenance and materials used in injection molding. This position works with the Maintenance, Engineering and Operations Managers to select, purchase, install and validate new plant machinery upon approval of capital equipment purchases.
The Senior Injection Molding Maintenance Lead must work well in a team environment with excellent communication skills and is collaborative with experience working in a matrixed organization. This position must also have proven experience implementing new equipment, systems, and processes that support continuous improvement, cost reduction and improved product quality. Both English and Spanish speaking is desirable.
Environmental Working Conditions:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force, and / or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move heavy objects. The use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than sedentary work. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and or operation or machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause a worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’experience in injection molding equipment repair is required.
- Experience in contract manufacturing and/or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing and working in a clean room environment a plus.
- Working knowledge of injection molding, support equipment and facilities.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and general plant maintenance required.
- Experience in managing the completion of scheduled preventative maintenance.
- ·Experience with equipment maintenance, spare parts inventory, cost controls and contract services.
- Maintaining FDA/ISO maintenance compliance per company procedures.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams during projects.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills required to effectively present information to all internal and external customers, and interact with all organizational levels.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking; highly motivated, focused, self-starter
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, such as Word, Excel, and other MS office applications.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English. (Spanish speaking a plus)
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must be able to prioritize, and manage multiple deliverables while working in a fast-pace environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Environmental Health and Safety experience.
We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $85,000-$110,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law
