Salary: £35,000 - £35,269

We are actively seeking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Shift Technician to join our team at Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LJ. The hours of work are 40 per week, on a rolling shift pattern.
We are looking for an individual who is fully qualified and experienced with an Electrical Engineering discipline and has experience of building and facilities maintenance.
As part of this role you will work as part of the G4S Facilities Management team to maintain and repair assets, building fabric, services and utilities across the PFI Hospital.
Reporting to the Hard FM Supervisor, you will work with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team work basis.
Key responsibilities will include:
Operate within planned maintenance procedures effectively and safely.
Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets.
Write up maintenance reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities.
Assist in the training and development of other maintenance and technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
Carry out maintenance inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and security etc.
Diagnose faults on all Mechanical & Electrical support systems and rectify where necessary.
Following detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals in order to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections and reactive repairs.
Carry out maintenance inspection and repairs to various assets, for example furniture, internal /external fixtures and fittings, grounds, access and car parking.
Assist in the development of maintenance routines, procedures, risk assessments and preparing and maintaining relevant technical records.
Participate in emergency call out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods.
Carry out maintenance activities to assist in project and improvement development works, offering alternatives to improve the effectiveness of the operation of the site.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential Criteria:
Fully qualified and experienced within an Electrical Engineering discipline (Level 3 NVQ diploma in Electro/Mechanical services or equivalent).
17th Edition (IET) Wiring Regulations.
Experience of building and facilities maintenance.
Willing to work a rolling shift pattern, flexible and able to adapt to change.
Desirable Criteria:
High level specialism such as CCTV Technology.
Experience of BMS systems.
Periodic Inspection & Testing.
Electrical Safety & Part P.
Portable Appliance Testing (EAL or City & Guilds).
