We are currently looking to appoint an Maintenance Operative to join our busy operations team.


OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
To undertake maintenance work as directed. To ensure maintenance work, cleaning, gardening and caretaking tasks are completed to a high standard.


REPORTS TO
You will be directly responsible to the Maintenance Supervisors and your line manager will be the Operations Manager.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
Maintenance
Driving and deliveries
Cleaning
Gardening
Caretaking
Painting/decorating

Cross College Duties
To be mindful of the need to ensure all College students receive a high level of care and discipline at all times (consistent with the Staff Handbook)
To promote the good name of the College through conduct towards students, parents, agents and other parties, and attendance at College events (consistent with the Staff and Personal Tutor Handbooks)
To adhere at all times to College standards (consistent with the Staff Handbook) • To provide general support and cover across the organisation as required
To be mindful at all times of health and safety requirements (consistent with the Staff Handbook)

Duties Pertinent to this Post (not exhaustive list)

Daily (in accordance with the Offices and Classrooms/Residential Accommodation Schedule)
  • Undertake maintenance issues as directed by Sysaid and the Senior Maintenance Supervisors
  • Delivery/collection of food and clean crockery and cutlery to the offsite canteen
  • Clean all outside areas
  • Deliver photocopy paper as directed
  • Ensure all deliveries received are dealt with Security of buildings- Unlocking/locking up
  • Pull off and enter job resolutions on Sysaid
  • Other related duties as directed by the management from time to time
  • Security of buildings- Unlocking/locking up/alarms Weekly (in accordance with the Offices and Classrooms/Residential Accommodation Schedule) Duties will include:
  • Undertake weekly campus check
  • Clean company vehicles inside and out
  • Weekly maintenance checks of vehicles
  • Other related duties as directed by the management from time to time
  • Fire Alarm testing
  • Lock up duty
  • Call out duty
Other
  • Deep Cleaning of the outside areas as and when required
  • General Gardening duties as and when required
  • You will also be required to undertake additional duties during our busy Summer School period. These additional duties will be notified to you prior to the commencement of the Summer School.

The post holder will have the ultimate responsibility for all the above functions.

He or she will need to possess
  • A caring attitude and a good sense of customer service. An ability to work using one’s own initiative as well as being a good team player is a pre-requisite. Experience gained within a residential environment would be of use.
  • Manual handling- moving heavy goods and furniture

Previous experience within a maintenance role
Demonstrates good critical thinking skills to understand client issues

Can weigh up information, issues and evidence and draw balanced conclusions from such

Speaks clearly and persuasively when interacting with internal and external personnel
