AAK Hull is located in the heart of an area enjoying significant redevelopment and investment.
The Port of Hull is being established as a world-class centre for renewable energy and manufacturing, and at AAK we feel proud to be part of this important industrial renaissance for Yorkshire and the UK.
At our recently upgraded site at King George Dock, we operate the UK’s largest refinery for edible oils and fats. We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, Foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespoke products.
About the role
AAK are seeking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to lead the site maintenance and services team, reporting into the Site Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the maintenance and reliability strategy for the AAK Hull site, to improve plant availability in a cost-effective manner. This includes plant shutdown planning and control, whilst ensuring compliance to QHSE.
Main responsibilities will include:
Effectively set, prioritise, and deliver the site maintenance and reliability strategy, taking into consideration - data collection, criticality assessments, FMEA, predictive and preventative maintenance, planning and scheduling.- Review spares parts system.
- Ensure a safe place of work through the application of safety policy and procedures.
- Effectively manage, develop, and coach a team of engineering professionals to ensure site performance and delivery against Maintenance KPI targets.
- Work in close partnership with the Engineering Manager and Site Management team to identify, resolve and communicate issues impacting on production, Health & Safety/ Environment and Quality.
- Drive to zero breakdowns through leading the asset management and maintenance/ reliability strategy programme.
- Responsible for capitalised maintenance investments and the effective management of the site’s Maintenance budget.
- Effectively plan and manage plant shutdown engineering works.
- Responsible for calibration and testing of critical equipment.
- Ensure maintenance related legal compliance.
About you
This role calls for a resilient leader who has a proven track record of driving change through strong leadership and communication.
The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:
Degree qualified/ HND in a relevant Engineering discipline- Working knowledge of world class Maintenance Management and Reliability techniques
- Previous food manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent mindset towards safety – (IOSH Managing safely/ NEBOSH ideal, but not essential)
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques and methodologies would be desirable.
- Understanding of Predictive technologies would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and coaching capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work with data – analytical mindset.
