All about the role
Based at our C Roberts Steel site in Rotherham, we have a fabulous new opening for an experienced Plasma & Laser Maintenance Engineer. The purpose of this role is to support the engineering requirements of the organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical and electrical engineering aspects of the company’s state of the art, CNC controlled, Laser and Saw equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plasma/Laser engineer, with an electrical bias, to join our brilliant asset care team.
Specific tasks include:
Support all mechanical and electrical engineering aspects of the company’s manufacturing equipment and facility services (planned & reactive).
- Routine maintenance of equipment, fault prevention, finding and repair of equipment and services, including FICEP Plasma, Esprit Plasma, Esprit Laser, Bystronic Laser as well as Voortman, Behringer, Amada, and Cosan saws.
- Assist in the development of processes and making recommendations on improvements, asset care and developing a lean culture within the business.
- Analyse equipment failures and suggest cost effective improvements.
- Support the development to support the implementation of PPM schedules and Operating procedures.
- Support the development of the Operator’s procedures and train them to carry out basic maintenance on the machines.

Essential Skills for the role:
- An Electrical Maintenance Engineering qualification or equivalent or a time served Apprenticeship – NVQ Level 3.
- Experience of working in a Machinery Maintenance/ heavy industry background with a very strong electrical bias.
- A documented history in Laser and Plasma maintenance would be advantageous.
- A background in fault finding/ rectification & competent mechanically, with experience of hydraulics & Conveyoring systems.
