Multiskilled Engineer

£46,000 + 10% Pension + Bonus + Monday-Friday Days
Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer in the local area?
Yolk Recruitment is exclusively working with a market leading company in the food and drink industry to hire a Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team in the South-West area. They're an award winning manufacturer that values progression and investment which is seeing brand new production lines installed.

Responsibilities:
- Respond proactively to engineering issues identified through site performance monitoring systems to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and plan attainment.
- Conduct pre-production line checks to ensure safety, quality, and efficient start-ups.
- Maintain and optimize existing and new site technology and automation to enhance business effectiveness.
- Adhere to legislative and ethical standards regarding safety and food hygiene.
- Utilize site maintenance systems to improve engineering effectiveness.
- Follow a "right first time" approach to equipment maintenance and performance.
- Collaborate in reviewing and adapting Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Ensure correct assignment and effective management of parts for work orders and maintain appropriate stock holding.
- Work alongside OEM contractors during on-site activities.
- Contribute to project work and capital expenditure projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in an automated or semi-automated FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electrical bias and understanding of pneumatic and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of PLC systems is desirable.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with the wider team.
- Willingness to learn and work with both old and new machinery.
