About the Role
- Carry out essential maintenance working through a programme of PPM
- Assist in developing the agility maintenance system
- Attend breakdowns
- Ensure machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and ensure critical spares are maintained
- Install / maintain plant machinery
- Improve factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility
- Operate a preventative mechanical maintenance system
- Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
- Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults

- Actively contribute to the creation and review of RA and SSOW
- Ensure adherence to Wienerberger’s quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001
Hours of Work: 6.00am to 6.00pm and 6.00pm to 6.00am on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
About You
- Preferably you will be apprentice trained, but with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. Successful candidates will be asked to provide copies of their relevant qualifications / carry out competence assessments
- Time served Fitter with experience of working in a manufacturing environment ideally heavy manufacturing (clay, refractory, quarrying, cement) or FMCG
- Team player and strong communicator
- Good exposure to health & safety standards
- Good working knowledge of EHS
- Passionate about improvement with knowledge of Lean manufacturing
- Analytical & problem-solving skills
- Experience and diagnostics experience of hydraulic, pneumatic, drive chain fault finding, bearing fitting / alignment and electrical control systems
- Excellent analytical & fault finding / problem solving skills
- Knowledge of cutting & grinding regulations
- Arc & Mig welding / basic fabrication
