Position: Maintenance Engineer/Service Support Engineer (FTC- 6 Months, Extendable and made permanent based on performance)
Location: Rochdale(Manchester)
Job Description:
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be involved in Plant and Production Equipment Maintenance. You will be based in Manchester and provide Technical Support to other Thales sites.
About the Role:
You will be working in rotating-shifts and paid shift allowance accordingly. Overtime optionavailable.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment to provide safe, reliable & efficient production, adhering to all HSE regulations/policies
- Undertake planned maintenance routines.
- Participate in the machines and process failure analysis.
- Support Operations IT with the implementation and administration of IT systems linked to production where required
- Liaise with Production at all levels to facilitate the identification and resolution of process problems.
- Support the introduction of any new equipment in Manchester.
- Work with Fareham Engineers to support equipment process management and documentation to ensure consistency across both sites
- Train and develop operators and technicians on equipment in line with WCE as and when required
- Provide instruction and guidance to production operators on machine operation and basic maintenance.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers to undertake machinery diagnostics / upgrades and modifications.
- Assist in the control / management of spares ensuring Database is up to date.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or industry engineering or related fields, or the equivalent working experience of related fields.
- Proven multi skilled engineering experience (Troubleshooting, Fault Finding, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, especially with regards to training
- Must be data driven and good at analyzing data.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Proficient computer/IT skills
- Familiarity with Inkjet & Laser Printing
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Due to the nature of the work the candidate should hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
