Reflexallen Group, multinational company with several plants around the world and headquarters on the hills of Guiglia (Modena-Italy), international leader of design, development and production of Automotive components, is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our busy plant in Bodelwyddan.
Our Customers are Automotive OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers who rely on us to build their electrical/pneumatic/fluid power products, mainly within the commercial/haulage industry. The main activity of the Maintenance Engineer is to ensure that all plant, machinery and ancillary equipment is maintained.
To be able to perform well in this role it is necessary to have a strong mind-set, good relationship building skills to both internal and external stakeholders and to be able to work well within a fast-paced environment.
This is a continental shift pattern working 4 on, 4 off:
2 days 6am-6pm
2 nights 6pm - 6am
The salary for this role is £38,766 (which includes a continental supplement)
Principle Responsibilities
- To assist the Plant Engineering Manager with the move forward from the existing reactive maintenance culture to one of a proactive planned maintenance function
- To respond quickly and effectively to breakdown situations, working on own initiative and making competent decisions to achieve necessary repairs to minimise downtime. This will involve call out duties, as and when required to cover a 24-hour continuous process
- To work flexibly, undertaking mechanical and electrical diagnosis and repair to plant and machinery as necessary
- Responsibilities will include the maintenance of all factory services including fire/security systems, maintaining factory/office heating system
- Maintenance of site extrusion machinery, process ovens and moulding machines
- Actively involved in a continuous improvement process to create and influence a lasting cultural change within a traditional manufacturing environment
- Have an involvement in process plant, installation and industrialisation projects with a view to modifying equipment at the design stage to suit manufacturing processes
- Light fabrication and modification of existing plant equipment if necessary
- An element of travel may be required to support our plants in Asia and Eastern Europe
- Undertake any other duties or responsibilities that are within the employee’s capabilities whenever reasonably instructed
- Involvement with the implementation of all health and safety regulations within the factory.
Skills/Knowledge
- Automotive manufacturing would be desirable
- Some working knowledge of basic PLC fault diagnosis and rectification would be advantageous
- Fault finding and installation of a wide variety of process control equipment including AC/DC drives, servo and stepper motor controllers
- Compressors/compressed air systems
- Chilled and chilled water systems
- Milling, turning and general machining
- Process analytical controllers
- Factory power distribution
- Mig and Arc welding, general fabrication, gas cut and silver solder
- Pneumatically controlled machinery
Qualifications/Experience
- HND in Engineering/Degree in an Engineering related subject
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Maintenance Engineering role
- Experience of working in a highly manual repetitive production line environment, preferably within the automotive sector
