About the role:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumbing and General Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Fixcrowd.com. As a Plumbing and General Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing both scheduled and reactive maintenance services for our clients' properties, with a primary focus on plumbing tasks. However, you will also be responsible for carrying out a range of general maintenance tasks to ensure comprehensive property upkeep
Your main responsibility will be to ensure that the plumbing maintenance needs of our tenants are met and that our properties' plumbing systems are functioning optimally. You will utilize your expertise in plumbing to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs. Some of the key plumbing tasks you will handle include:
- Tap replacement: Removing and replacing faulty taps to restore proper water flow and functionality.
- Silicon application: Applying high-quality silicon sealant to areas such as bathtubs, showers, and sinks to prevent water leaks and maintain a clean appearance.
- Leak investigation: Identifying the source of leaks, whether it's in pipes, faucets, or plumbing fixtures, and implementing appropriate repairs to prevent further damage.
- Toilet flush system repair: Repairing or replacing components in toilet flush systems to restore proper flushing mechanisms and prevent water wastage.
- Pipe repairs: Addressing leaks, bursts, or blockages in plumbing pipes and ensuring proper water flow and drainage.
- Boiler maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance tasks on boilers, such as descaling and checking pressure levels, to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Radiator repairs: Fixing issues with radiators, such as bleeding air, resolving leaks, or replacing faulty valves.
In addition to these plumbing tasks, you will also be responsible for a range of general maintenance tasks to maintain the overall condition of our properties. These tasks may include:

- Hanging a TV: Mounting TVs securely on walls and ensuring proper cable management.
- Fitting blinds: Installing window blinds to enhance privacy and control light levels.
- Door handle replacement: Installing new door handles or repairing existing ones to ensure smooth operation and security.
- Fitting a light switch: Installing or replacing light switches to ensure proper electrical functionality.
- Replacing a kitchen unit door: Updating the appearance of kitchen cabinets by replacing damaged or outdated doors.
- Basic carpentry tasks: Performing minor carpentry work, such as repairing or replacing skirting boards, shelves, or small furniture items.
These plumbing and general maintenance tasks demonstrate the diverse range of responsibilities you will handle as a Plumbing and General Maintenance Engineer. Your ability to address various plumbing issues and conduct general repairs will be essential in providing comprehensive maintenance services to our clients.
Flexibility and adaptability are key aspects of this role, as you will be expected to commute between job locations throughout London and carry out a minimum of 6 chargeable hours per day. You will work closely with our scheduling team to ensure efficient job planning and timely service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of previous experience in plumbing and general maintenance roles.
- Strong knowledge of various plumbing systems and components.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
