We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our Logistic team as a Maintenance Engineer based at our Distribution Centre in Magor South Wales.
The shift pattern for this role is 6.00am till 2.00pm, 2.00pm till 10.00pm and 10.00pm till 6.00am on a rota’d basis starting from Sunday night until Friday afternoon; with a 1 in 6 weekend on call required.
As our Maintenance Engineer you’ll be responsible for the maintenance of the facilities, breakdown cover and the general maintenance of the equipment on site ensuring we’re compliant with current regulations. You’ll assist with building maintenance (mechanical or electrical).
Taking huge pride in what you do, your role will involve ensuring the availability and the up time of business-critical equipment remains complaint with key health and safety legislation, along with ensuring key aspects of maintenance work on mechanical and electrical systems across the site such as:
- Recycling equipment
- Lighting/power systems
- Safety systems (fire, sprinklers)
- Generator maintenance
- Dock levellers and door systems
- Container booms
- Battery charging systems
- Required project work on installations, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
For this role we need someone who has completed an apprenticeship programme in electrical or mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years’ experience working in an electrical or mechanical engineering role within distribution/logistics, material handling or FMCG environment. Someone who can demonstrate a good understanding of the required maintenance disciplines, you’ll be an expert at fault-finding and problem solving to have a right first-time approach.
