AEM Limited has been Europe's leading independent overhaul and repair facility for more than 60 years. The company has a solid reputation in the aerospace industry for providing a broad range of services to international and regional airlines, helicopter operators and airframe manufacturers. Conducting business from three sites in the United Kingdom, AEM offers specialist services for in excess of 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To carry out site repairs and modifications on both mechanical and electrical equipment
- To undertake the following mechanical tasks
- Mechanical fault finding on pumps, gearboxes, lathes, grinding machines, boring machines.
- Machine strip downs and rebuilds
- Planned and preventive maintenance
- Mechanical installation including pipe fitting and machine moves
- To undertake the following Electrical tasks
- Electrical fault finding on both single and three phase systems
- Electrical installation work including panel building
- Planned and preventive maintenance
- PAT testing
- Programing temperature PID controllers.
- Perform safe isolation and lockout of equipment.
- Create risk assessment/method statements prior to commencing work activities.
- Accurately record and document maintenance actives using the maintenance system.
- Escalate any faults including estimated time of recovery and to provide regular progress updates to the facilities manager.
- To perform out of hours working to support critical maintenance, Breakdowns and project work as required.
- Participate in the creation of standard working documents, local instructions etc.
- Work with sub-contractors to assist with maintenance, repairs and modifications to plant and equipment.
- Assist with the control, ordering and replenishment of spare parts and components.
Previous Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years, proven relevant experience working within maintenance or repairs engineer role.
- A strong knowledge of electrical systems (both single and three phase).

- Experience undertaking general fabrication work (mechanical and electrical).
- Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical technical drawings
- Proven ability to fault find on electrical and mechanical systems
Qualifications and competences
- Engineering HNC/HND qualification or equivalent (essential)
- Excellent analytical, fault finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Innovative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
- Cost conscious and able to work to budget.
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office, MS Project)
- 18th addition electrical certification, Electrical Installation City and Guilds (highly desirable)
- Excellent attention to detail.
