We have a number of exciting opportunities in our Engineering Department at our London Bakery based in Walthamstow. The role of a Multi-skilled Shift Engineer is a varied and challenging one working 4 on 4 off shifts covering both days and nights. As a professional multi-skilled engineer, you will be expected to identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives alongside proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and site services associated with a major bakery. Key Accountabilities
- You will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift basis. You will be expected to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and services associated with a major bakery. Responsibilities also involve improving and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring that team members are fully aware and comply with all Health & Safety standards, company and legal requirements e.g., COSH, HACCP.
- You will support the manufacturing process by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled maintenance work and being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults whilst responding effectively to equipment breakdowns and ensure maximum focus is given to continuous improvement.
- You will be asked to fault find in an effective and efficient manner whilst utilising the various machines relevant documentation whilst maintaining harmonious relations with the operational staff and to work flexibly with them ensuring that machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
- You will be pro-active in the reduction of engineering downtime and continuous improvement of the process and the department.
- You will be a time served engineer preferably with food manufacturing experience and cross or multi skilled trained.
- You will be an enthusiastic, motivated individual who believes that they can make a difference and develop into this crucial role and ensure our engineering strategy is delivered consistently.
- You will be at your best driving forward safe working practices and communication on performance including OEE and CCOs.
- Plus, any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role. The above list of accountabilities is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake duties as may be reasonably expected.
