Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Group Property Services Team for an individual looking to further their career in Building Services as a Maintenance Electrician (Lead).
Based at our Plumpton Park site in Harrogate where we produce Yorkshire Tea and delicious food in our Bakery, this role is about undertaking Mechanical and Electrical PPMs and repairs works across our entire property portfolio in Yorkshire. As most of the tasks are electrically biased you will need to be Electrically qualified with preferably 18th Edition and Testing and Inspection Qualifications.
Whilst being Electrically trained the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of building operating systems such as Hot water, Heating, Cooling and Building Management systems giving them the ability to identify faults and rectify on a wide range of issues that may arise within our buildings but also able to identify and carry out energy reducing tasks, undertake and lead relevant tasks following on from Electrical Testing and Inspection and Water Hygiene risk assessments. Although the role is hands on there is an element of being the lead and ensuring the business is fully compliant in arranging Electrical Periodic Testing and Water Hygiene risk assessments by contractors but also working alongside the departments other roles and the Building Services Manager in supervising other contractors whilst onsite carrying out repairs to other building systems.
This is a challenging and varied role which will require the successful person to take an active role in the team, organising and managing their own day to day workload but to lead any high priority reactive tasks and PPMs with the Maintenance Electricians to rectify internally in a timely manner should they arise. This will also involve assisting in developing and training task related Risk Assessments and SOPs to ensure that tasks are carried out safely. This role will not be expected to line manage the Maintenance Electricians.
Our departments core working hours are 37.5 per week, 8am to 4pm Mon-Fri but we do offer some flexibility with this due to some early starts at 6am required. Within the team, an out of hours service is provided on a rota basis which will be expected of this role - typically covering one week in four. On occasions, weekends and evening work may be required to carry out specific tasks that cannot be carried out during normal working hours (e.g. at our café tea rooms).
What we offer you
As a minimum, all our employees receive free meals, drinks and snacks while at work, a discretionary quarterly profit-share bonus, holiday allowance with the option to buy and (in some cases) sell additional days, company-wide employee discounts, access to our health cash plan, wellbeing support, company funded counselling, and enrolment in the company pension.
We also offer a range of development opportunities no matter your role and ambitions. We encourage everyone to explore what makes them the best version of themselves, and we do this through external training programmes, apprenticeships and internal 1:1 coaching schemes.
