We have an exciting opportunity in the Engineering and Maintenance Team for someone with a passion for maintenance who is looking to make a difference in the University, by helping to maintain its buildings to a world class standard.
As part of a team of maintenance technicians, you will use your mechanical skills and experience to ensure effective delivery of the university’s maintenance function. You will carry out the day to day planned and reactive maintenance of air handling units and as such a working technical knowledge of current guidelines and standards is essential, together with a strong knowledge of relevant HVAC / air conditioning and refrigeration operation and controls, predominantly in the new Faculty of Social Science Building, but also where required across the wider University campus. At all times you will work in compliance with the University’s policies, current technical legislation and health and safety standards.
The majority of work is of a physical nature and as such requires manual handling and the ability to carry tools and equipment across campus. The ability to ascend and descend ladders and to utilise access equipment when required with the dexterity to undertake a range of mechanical work tasks to ensure a good standard of works is also essential.
