We are looking for an experienced and friendly Maintenance Assistant to join the SCHLOSS Roxburghe team!
In this role of Maintenance Assistant, you will support the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day to running of the department, including both preventative and curative maintenance. All tasks and jobs will have a guest centric focus and you will also play a key part in delivering an exceptional customer experience and colleague experience for both our guests and colleagues whilst on duty. Your Key Responsibilities:
- You will assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager in the day-to-say maintenance of the overall Hotel and estate facilities including preventative maintenance works
- You ensure that the hotel property is maintained to the highest standard required according to Health & Safety regulations and as set by management
- You will lead the completion of all types of repairs to equipment, fixtures and fittings, as reported on the hotel maintenance system or by direct requests by the team
- You will bring your experience to identify and contribute innovative and practical ways to improve the overall quality and process within the department
- You will maintain a level of broader knowledge of the hotel which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the department
- You will repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment
- In partnership with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager you will carry out and document regular inspections of plant and hotel equipment
- You will assist tradesmen and colleagues with maintenance and repairs when required
- You will assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager with any ad hoc duties or requests when necessary
Your Knowledge & Capabilities:
- You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships
- You are a brilliant multi-tasker and able to organise your time effectively
- You have a key eye for detail and enjoy accuracy and precision in your work
- You enjoy working as part of a team as much as you enjoy working independently
- You have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- You use your initiative and take a practical approach to problem solving
Proven Experience/Qualifications:
- Basic 1 year + maintenance experience including painting, decorating, electrics, joinery and plumbing
- Understanding and knowledge of H&S and Legionella is preferred
- Previous experience in the Hospitality industry desirable
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English
