We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant.
The Park Plaza Hotel Cardiff is a 4-star deluxe hotel situated in the heart of Cardiff city centre. Our facilities include 129 guestrooms, the 120-seater Laguna Kitchen and Bar and the luxurious Laguna Health & Spa. In addition, we have 11 conference rooms, the largest being our Plaza Suite which can accommodate up to 160 guests and a Moroccan themed venue, the Kuku.
Working as part of the maintenance team you will need to be a good all-rounder who is able to maintain our guest bedrooms and public areas to a high standard. Working as part of the team you will ensure all related equipment and plant areas are working efficiently and effectively and in addition there will be planned maintenance tasks and routine Health & Safety requirements to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Duties:
- Daily maintenance and repair tasks, as per PMS
- Undertaking scheduled maintenance tasks – daily, weekly and monthly
- Managing all proactive and reactive maintenance
- Maintaining general upkeep of the business, including painting & decorating
- Plumbing and related tasks
- Emergency repairs around the hotel, including on call
- Liaising with external contractors and hotels teams in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
You:
- You will need to possess good all-round maintenance knowledge and skills, including painting and decorating
- Be able to work on your own and as part of a team
- Is capable to work to a consistently high standard and has a good eye for detail
- Is adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
- Understands the needs of our customers and the business and is able to communicate
- Be presentable and a confident with a friendly personality
- Is a able to communicate with customers, colleagues and manages
- Be proficient in Health and Safety
- Can easily commute to work

Hours of Work:
39 hours a week working 5 out of 7 days, including weekends.
Previous related work experience is essential, and candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
