Maintenance Assistant
Salary up to 28k
Location: 1 Warwick, Soho
The Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team and be located at our brand-new site in Soho. The successful candidate, under the supervision of our Facilities Manager, will support the General Manager to ensure the fixtures and services of the building are always maintained. Located in a Neo-Baroque mansion on a dynamic corner of London’s storied Soho, 1 Warwick is a members’ House set over six floors, it is home to beautifully designed workspaces, members’ lounges, event spaces, a studio and gym – as well as a rooftop restaurant and bar with sweeping views of the neighbourhood, which has played muse to centuries of creatives.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled tradesperson with an eye for detail and common sense. Applicants who apply must be flexible and be able to commit to hours that include, daytime, evening and weekends and Bank Holidays.
Responsibilities
Manage general repairs onsite such as offices, restaurants, receptions, bar areas, communal areas, stairwells, and hallways.
To be accountable for the routine and reactive maintenance and upkeep of the building (including plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical repairs as required.)
Work with the General Manager and Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Requirements.
Day to day contractor management such as escorting through building, ensuring all relevant paperwork is checked and received, and working area left tidy.
Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to agreed standards and costs.
To maintain all maintenance stocks on a regular basis, ordering appropriate stocks when necessary, using the correct ordering systems.
Ensure all maintenance equipment is always working properly and safely.
Update routine daily and weekly checks and record logs.
Attend rare site emergencies, outside of normal working hours.
Occasionally may assist the maintenance team at our other site in Fitzrovia.
The Person
You will have lots of common sense and be able to work under your own initiative.
Able to problem solve in the moment and provide solutions.
Able to make sound decisions when needed.
Good written and spoken technical English.
Must have experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities.
Be calm and able to work under pressure.
A team player and able to communicate with all departments.
Must be a self-starter, confident and stable in manner.
Eager to learn.
