McMillan has an exciting opportunity as a Trademarks Administrative Clerk in our Toronto Trademarks and Intellectual Property Group. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in supporting the migration of our current Trademarks database. This is a contract position of a minimum of one year.
What You’ll Do
This position is an excellent opportunity for a flexible and motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a collegial and challenging work environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the team with the migration of the current Trademarks database to a new, more efficient platform (Patricia); ensuring that all client records and deadlines have been successfully and accurately transferred; assisting with updating Patricia with CIPO deadlines; assisting with preparation of deadline and status reports. Additionally, there is opportunity to support the following tasks: processing paper and electronic correspondence and entering relevant information into the docketing database; manage and reconcile CIPO and WIPO deposit/credit card accounts; generate and distribute deadline reports; order CIPO correspondence; other administrative duties as required.
What You Bring
Experience in Trademarks is an asset but not required, including familiarity with Trademark docketing platform, and Canadian Trademark application and registration process; familiarity with CIPO Trademark Electronic filing system specifically filing a Trademark application; familiarity with navigating CIPO, USPTO, EUIPO, WIPO Trademark databases is an asset; strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). You are detail-oriented and are able to effectively meet deadlines, work well in a team setting, manage fast-paced timelines, and provide an exceptional level of client service. You have a keen interest in learning, embrace evolving technology, and have strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
