Job Title: Machinist III
Job Summary: The Machinist III at Ojjo performs a critical job function, turning concepts into reality. Daily activities entail working with engineering models and drawings to come up with safe processes to manufacture machined and/or fabricated projects. The Machinist III will be working alongside other machinists and engineers to help complete shop tasks. The ideal candidate may be required to be available to work overtime when needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Programming, setup, and operation of CNC milling machines, and lathes (4th axis a plus)
- Setup and operation of manual machinery
- Tooling upkeep and maintenance
- Work with engineers to perform tasks
- Work with shop staff to provide support in programming areas. (CNC programming, .dxf creation of shapes)
Secondary Responsibilities
- Machinery maintenance for smooth, uninterrupted operation
- Assisting to maintain tooling and supplies when needed
- Shop cleaning and upkeep
- Material handling (forklift, hoist, crane)
- Help manage scrap materials
Job Qualifications:
- 5 years machine shop experience
- 2 years programming experience with CAD/CAM software. (SmartCam a plus)
- Experience with common machine shop practices
- Knowledge of common machine shop tooling
- Practical experience with CNC and manual milling and turning
- Experience with proper speeds and feeds for non-exotic materials
- Experience in designing and manufacturing fixturing and work holding a plus
- Ability to join and maintain a positive working environment among everyone in the company
- Openness to changing gears quickly and smoothly to react to plan changes
- Welding and fabrication ability a plus
- Experience with a hydraulic press
- Computer skills (CAD/CAM)
- Experience with analytical problem solving
- Able to work in a standing environment for 8 hours or more a day
- Able to lift over 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
