Wood Machinist – Position Overview
- Operate various machinery within the joinery workshop.
- Working as part of a team to maximise output and efficiency throughout the shop.
- Operate all machinery safely, effectively, and efficiently, whilst maintaining precision, accuracy & quality always.
- To consistently achieve and uphold the required output from the machines to maintain schedule.
- Work alongside timber frame assembly team
- Shrink wrapping or packaging of components, when required, to customer specifications.
- To carry out additional duties as requested by Team Leader
- Cut timber to high standards of quality & precision
Wood Machinist – Position Requirements
- Previous experience working with various saws
- Able to understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Previous experience working in a high tolerance manufacturing environment.
- Professional & loyal to the organisation, taking pride in what you produce
- Joinery experience beneficial
- Forklift license desirable
Looking for a Wood Machinist and this role could also be suitable for someone wanting a career change. Trained to assemble timber frame house panels, use cross cut and panel saws and a variety of hand and power tools. Production is varied, fast paced and accurate and you must be able to meet deadlines during peak workloads and have good attention to detail and quality. Have good numerical skills, keep a tidy and productive workshop working with a minimum of supervision. We are looking for keen, reliable and proactive individuals with flexible approach and a strong work ethic and great inititative and keen to do well and grow with the company.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £10.50 per hour
