The Microsoft Applied Sciences Group incubates disruptive technologies for Microsoft’s next-gen hardware products and is working on several exciting projects that will shape how computers and other devices perceive the user and the user’s environment. Operating as a startup within the company, this team works closely with several research and product teams to bring compelling new experiences to the market. A lot of these experiences will rely on a combination of cutting edge hardware and cloud technology. As part of this team, you will have the unique opportunity to develop novel software solutions for different platforms that will revolutionize how people use computers in the future.
We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to shape the implementation of large machine learning models into applications and APIs that are optimized for performance and accuracy. The nature of this rapidly evolving AI ecosystem provides new challenges on almost a daily basis, ranging from identifying bugs in ML frameworks such as ONNX to hardware-related issues with the CI system and evaluation of AI models. We expect you to be a hands-on engineer with excellent analytical skills and an intrinsic drive to overcome obstacles who will work closely with a diverse team to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Hands on machine learning engineer which excellent analytical skills to debug and assist development of AI products.
- Optimise AI models for efficient execution on custom NPU enabled devices.
- Assist in identifying and addressing issues in ML frameworks and associated hardware.
- Develop, maintain, and improve the CI/CD framework for large scale model testing, evaluation, and optimisation, and strong desire to automate.
- Work on enhancing user experiences by improving the performance and accuracy of computer vision and machine learning models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Microsoft and work towards shipping of robust AI solutions.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, OR related areas OR a Master’s degree with relevant industry experience.
Requirements:
- Semonstrable years of experience in deep learning and its different toolkits particularly Onnx, Pytorch or Tensorflow.
- Experience of Python and C++ experience.
- Experience with model conversion and optimization toolkits for different hardware platforms, in particular, Openvino, SNPE, VITIS, ONNX, QNN, NNCF.
Should have hands-on experience working on at least one of:
- Experience in network architecture search, model quantization.
- Experience with model profiling/analysis, dataset management, versioning, creating tools for system debugging.
- Experience with model quantization frameworks like SNPE, OpenVino NNCF
- Experience with ONNX execution providers like QNN for accelerated hardware execution on targeted chipsets.
- Experience in working with Azure Machine Learning (AML) or similar cloud-based machine learning frameworks.
