As a member of the MOTIX Algorithm Innovations team, you will be part of the Machine Learning team responsible for model building and providing support for telematic data services. Your primary responsibility will be to translate the needs and requirements of various departments (such as security, data governance, and performance) into robust and dependable machine learning products that can be deployed in a production environment.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience with a top-tier data platform. Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day management of team activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports, and contributing strategically to the team's direction and the generation of valuable insights for analytics purposes.

Responsibilities:
  • To deliver projects and innovation in the data science section of Motix through the development of Machine Learning models and projects to address and extend business requirements and needs.
  • Responsible for implementation and support of machine learning solutions. Involves research, planning, designing, optimizing, testing and deployment of algorithms as well as design and delivery of development infrastructure, technologies and pipelines.
  • Manage full lifecycle of machine learning algorithms projects from research to deployment and ongoing operation.
  • Responsible for individual project deliverables including quality of code and models, managing project-level schedules and tasks, ensuring deliverables are fit-for-purpose, as well as communication and planning relevant project details with other teams.
  • Individually responsible for projects as well as supporting the wider team to provide the business with quality data-driven enhancements and predictions with a high level of confidence to internal and external partners.
  • Ensure that provided products and services are fit for purpose, meeting or exceeding requirements and expectations.
  • Drive innovation and improvements within the platform and wider business to deliver business value.
  • Communicate with the business and other developers, ways to maximise product suitability, to drive innovation and to ensure existing algorithms and their predictions are of expected quality.
  • Continuously identifies and assess opportunities for improvements in our products and platform making recommendations to adapt and improve existing products and services.
  • Research and develop effective and efficient solutions.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

Degree or higher degree in a STEM area (or equivalent work experience)


Technical Skills

  • Experience with Python and/or JVM-related languages, such as Java, Kotlin or Scala.
  • Experience with a scientific computing stack. (NumPy or Breeze, Pandas or Saddle, Scikit-Learn or Spark MLlib etc.)
  • Experience with a web framework (Flask/Fastapi, ktor/PLAY)
  • Good experience with cloud computing (AWS preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience with data science projects. (Open source, academic, and/or commercial)
  • Demonstrate good ability and instincts to data analysis.
  • Experience with deploying predictive models and algorithms in a production environment.
  • Proven experience in working with large data sets.
  • Extensive knowledge of regression and classification supervised machine learning algorithms.
  • Knowledge of unsupervised machine learning algorithms and dimensionality reduction techniques.
  • Experience in building deep learning algorithms.
  • Knowledge of optimisation methods specifically as applied to machine learning/artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in communicating and demonstrating analysis results to an audience.
  • Knowledge of concurrent design patterns.
  • Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools (e.g. Gitlab CI, Jenkins etc.)
  • Understanding of software architectures and software engineering best practices.
  • Knowledge of agile practices such as Kanban, XP or Scrum

  • Strong communication and organisation skills with the ability to operate in a team with mixed disciplines.
  • Able to communicate clearly at all levels of the business.
  • Initiative to drive projects to fruition and demonstrate
