Red Snapper Managed Services (RSMS) have been commissioned to provide investigation support services to support major crime investigations across the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire region. We are currently delivering an important project to identify and gather key evidence to support with a major incident which took place before Christmas 2022.

The purpose of the Investigator will be to obtain and review critical evidence such as CCTV and obtaining evidential witness statements working with colleagues and actions set. This role will utilise key skills, experience and investigative techniques to gather information to support the progression of the investigation. A typical day in this role will include attending briefings, completing actions set by the OIC which will involve speaking with witnesses, arranging appointments to visit residential and commercial businesses to obtain statements, view CCTV from systems such as door bells, dash cams, private and public CCTV systems to identify descriptions of persons of interest, vehicles used, clothing, travel directions and general whereabouts when building a wider picture of occasions which occurred prior to the incident taking place.

Key Accountabilities:

• Complete actions thoroughly as set by the OIC;
• Identify informants and witnesses;
• Review CCTV for evidential material, track and trace;
• Obtain evidential statements;
• Conduct door to door enquiries;
• Gather appropriate evidence through various lines of enquiry; and
• Support with interviews conforming to PACE where necessary.

Required Candidate: highly experienced detective with major and/or serious crime investigation experience

Project Length: 6 months

Project Start: ASAP / 6th March

Pay Rate: £17.50ph / £131.00 per day PAYE plus holiday accrual

Location: Luton, Welwyn Garden City and undertaking enquiries within the region

Vetting: Must pass NPPV 2 vetting
