Position- Lunchtime Supervisor
Hours - Part Time, 2 hours per day (Monday-Friday)
Location - South Sheffield
Provide Education are working closely with a primary school in South Sheffield who are looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor on a long term basis Summer term.
The successful applicant will be required for a 5 days per week, working between 11.30am and 1.30pm. This role is ideal for individuals with childcare commitments or for those seeking part-time hours around additional roles or study.
As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will be required to supervise children during the lunch break, ensuring the security, safety and wellbeing and care of the pupils of the school. You will also promote social, emotional and physical development during the lunch time period. The school caters for pupils with a wide range of additional and complex needs – so you will also be required to support pupils with feeding, and provide personal care during the lunchtime period.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Escorting pupils from classrooms into the dining hall
- Supervising children in classrooms, corridors, all areas of the playgrounds, pitch areas and/or dining hall
- Following the lunchtime rota and supervise appropriate areas
- Giving basic assistance to injured children and taking injured or unwell children where necessary to the nominated qualified first-aider
- Noting incidents dealt with during lunchtime, recording accurately and feeding back to teaching staff
- Supervising children in the dining hall
- Promoting positive peer interaction
- Assisting children with their choice of meals, ensuring that they eat a balanced diet and being especially aware of children on special or restricted diets for religious or medical grounds
- Supporting with feeding where appropriate, and ensuring inclusion of children unable to feed (PEG or button feeds)
- Ensuring that wet floors, spills, etc. are dealt with immediately and that tables are kept clean
- Supporting children with toileting and providing personal care where appropriate – taking pupils from classroom/dining hall to the changing suite(s) and escorting back to allocated areas in school
- Ensuring all pupils are escorted back to relevant classrooms and areas of school for afternoon sessions
