Maintenance Shift Technician (Mechanical)
Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire

The Role
As a Shift Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for all Manufacturing Maintenance activities within an area of responsibility, generally a number of production lines within a value stream. The key points of contact for the Shift Technicians are the Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Manager, Product Supply Leaders, Manufacturing Technicians, Operators and other Shift Technicians. The Shift Technician will have authority to requisition parts and services from the area maintenance revenue budget. In this role you'll:
- All items of plant and equipment are maintained to the appropriate standards to ensure their performance is safe, reliable and in accordance with the principles of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice).
- Monitor plant operational efficiency, reliability and capability of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under performance or opportunity and implement plans to deliver improvement.
- Monitor and control maintenance spend to meet annual budgets and ensure value for money is obtained.
- Diagnose and rectify problems with manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Agree preventative maintenance plans, routine remedial action, machine design modifications, and operating & changeover procedures with Manufacturing Maintenance and Operations teams.
- Use the CMMS Maximo system and resource to ensure that all agreed maintenance and improvement work is completed and ensure accurate and timely feedback of all tasks performed.
- Promote a safe workplace and lead by example following the site electrical safety rules.
- Participate in the planning and execution of training for self, other team members and manufacturing staff.
You’ll succeed if you have the following experience & qualifications…
- Qualified Engineer (NVQ Level 3 and above minimum requirement)
- Communicate well, influence and keep others well informed.
