LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT (LEVEL 2)

Initially based at St Lawrence School, Horncastle.

(Physical Therapy Liaison – LSA2)

G5-SCP12-15 £23,194.00 - £25,878.00 pro rata per annum

32.5 hours per week 39 weeks per year

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative individual with a commitment to supporting the development of our young people with a wide range of learning difficulties ranging from moderate to severe, profound and complex across the Federation. The applicant should have energy for supporting our ethos based on coaching and restorative practice, positive behaviour, communication and complex needs and have a relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Experience of working in special education is essential and the suitable candidate must have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar role. The post will be paid on the G5 salary scale; point 12-15 and is a permanent position.

The purpose of this role is to work with children and young people as directed, and in liaison with Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy services. This position would be working alongside the same role at St Bernard’s school, providing support to the Head of School and Staff, across a range of child centered activities which promote child development and learning; to take responsibility for some specific tasks/areas of work around Sensory Integration, physical development, including rebound therapy, hydrotherapy and carrying out physiotherapy programme's. Staff training and support around moving and handling, is also a key aspect of the role. Professional learning will be offered, to support the role, including as a Moving and Handling trainer.
