We are addressing the world’s appetite for energy by aligning our integrated consultancy teams with the needs and goals of developers, construction contractors, financiers and operators of energy infrastructure. We are looking to grow the team with a graduate specialising in Energy Efficiency and Energy Decarbonisation.

Committed to addressing the complete spectrum of energy challenges, we offer expertise in the following sectors: energy efficiency and carbon management, energy master planning, building decarbonisation, renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro-power), bio-energy (including energy from waste), thermal power generation, heat networks and transmission and distribution.

Our projects cover complex estate decarbonisation, identifying implementation of green technologies and optimisation of behind the meter energy systems. Recent projects include university campuses, NHS facilities, national level utility assets and global manufacturers.

This is a delivery focused role requiring a technical understanding of energy efficiency and energy decarbonisation and ability to perform research and make recommendations regarding emerging energy and decarbonisation technologies. The role shall be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a broad spectrum of technical services to our clients drawing on the wide capabilities that we have on offer.

Job Description

We are addressing the world’s appetite for energy by aligning our integrated consultancy teams with the needs and goals of developers, construction contractors, financiers and operators of energy infrastructure.

We are looking to grow the team with a graduate specialising in Energy Efficiency and Energy Decarbonisation. Committed to addressing the complete spectrum of energy challenges, we offer expertise in the following sectors: energy efficiency and carbon management, energy master planning, building decarbonisation, renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro-power), bio-energy (including energy from waste), thermal power generation and transmission and distribution.

Globally, our projects range from energy efficiency work that saves megawatts of power at California State University campuses and transmission line upgrades in Australia, to wind farm design in Argyll, Scotland and design & construction of a hydroelectric power project in central Laos that supplies power to Thailand. Whether we're designing a system to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions at coal-fired plants in Canada, developing a detailed handbook to help London's developers implement sustainable energy policies, installing a 200-kilowatt fuel cell at a Texas medical clinic, or developing a turbine-generator unit at a geothermal field in West Java, AECOM strives to meet all of its clients' needs.

This is a delivery focused role requiring a technical understanding of energy efficiency and energy decarbonisation and ability to perform research and make recommendations regarding emerging energy and decarbonisation technologies.

The role shall be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a broad spectrum of technical services to our clients drawing on the wide capabilities that we have on offer.

Responsibilities include:
+ Supporting the delivery of consultancy services on energy engineering and decarbonisation projects.

+ Providing input into feasibility level studies for energy projects in conjunction with the wider AECOM teams.

+ Data analysis to support projects related to energy efficiency, building decarbonisation, and renewable energy feasibility

+ Performing energy calculations and cost to validate energy conservation measures (ECMs) on energy auditing projects

+ Energy and utility usage analysis for building decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and energy management projects

+ Research on solutions for client projects related to advanced and emerging energy technologies

+ Preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :
+ BEng in relevant discipline or BSc with Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline – e.g. Energy Engineering

+ A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above

+ Work or educational experience in energy engineering, such as HVAC systems, industrial energy efficiency, and/or energy load calculations would be beneficial

+ Able to demonstrate a commitment to continued education and improvement through participating in our approved training schemes

+ Demonstrable interest in a career in energy efficiency and low carbon operations

+ Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint

+ Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback

+ Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive

+ Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole

+ Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus.

Preferred Qualifications :
+ Driving license – some travel to site may be required with equipment

+ Student member of an appropriate professional institution

+ Working ability in a second language and/or relevant work experience outside the UK
