Courier Van Driver - Long Distance / Overnight
Standard Driving Licence With 3.5T Rating Required
£10.25 per hour
40 Hours Per Week + 4 Weeks Paid Holiday
Fleet Support Services LTD are recruiting on behalf of a Nationwide Courier.
We are seeking an experienced van driver to cover the long distance and multi-drop routes of our client.
You will be responsible for driving company vehicles in line with company policies to deliver multiple items to customers throughout the UK.
Having a broad customer base, you will be expected to lift and carry heavy or bulky items. The items you can expect to handle vary from large mattresses, divan beds, flat-pack furniture, antique tables and sideboards, sofas and chairs, large mirrors and everything else in between. Arrangements are always made to ensure assistance is available but you may have to carry items up several flights of stairs should the need arise.
You will have experience of loading vehicles in a competent manner to ensure no damage occurs to items of the vehicle. Knowledge of VOSA regulations regarding vehicle weights and maintenance checks would be an advantage.
As a long distance driver you will be required to spend a minimum of 1 night per week away from home. However, you will be offered a generous overnight allowance as well as paid hotels.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate experience of working alone for long hours, meeting deadlines and providing excellent customer service.
You will require a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.
