Job description

London Marketing Manager

Application closing date: Wednesday 17 May, 23:59

Location

Loughborough University London

Salary

Salary will be Management & Specialist Grade 7, £44,414 - £52,841 per annum + £3,417 London allowance.

About the vacancy

Loughborough University’s reputation goes before it; not least because it’s consistently amongst the top 10 universities in the UK, three-time winners of University of the Year at the Whatuni? Student Choice Awards, and University of the Year for Sport by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022. We have been inspiring winners since 1909 across a wide range of research and study areas, including design, digital technologies, international development, management, media, and sport business.

In 2015 we opened Loughborough University London, a postgraduate campus located on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The campus brings together influential thought leaders, pioneering researchers, and creative innovators with modern facilities, unrivalled industry partnerships, outstanding teaching, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

To match our ambitions for the London campus, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious Marketing Manager to join the London-based offshoot of our award-winning Marketing & Advancement (M&A) team.

You will lead on the postgraduate taught and research student recruitment and conversion strategies for the UK and international markets; driving forward and delivering data-informed, innovative, and collaborative sector-leading integrated campaigns to make a big impact.

This impact stretches beyond providing an excellent applicant journey from enquiry to enrolment, but also Loughborough University London’s global reputation. You will achieve this by ensuring output is aligned with the Loughborough University Strategy 2030 and the School’s strategy, working as a key marketing advisor to London’s senior leadership team and connecting plans and activity with key Marketing & Advancement colleagues in the East Midlands, including Student Recruitment Marketing and the Global Engagement teams.

London’s digital and content strategies will also be in your hands, so a good sense of planning, timing, creativity, and relevance is needed, along with a user-centered approach (UX) to all your team’s work.

To assist you with this task, you will be heading up a team on the London campus that includes a Marketing Coordinator and Marketing Intern, as well as cohort of ad-hoc Student Ambassadors who regularly generate content for the team. As the team is small, yet perfectly formed, you should also be willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved with operational delivering in addition to strategic delivery. You will be supported by your line manager, the Student Recruitment Marketing Manager, and a wide range of specialists across M&A.

This is an ideal role for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring strategic thinking, project management, team leadership and a strong sense of data-driven delivery together with creativity, innovation, and future-thinking digital-first marketing. You will be working amongst a motivated team of individuals who go above and beyond to deliver stand-out marketing, so being able to bring together and collaborate with representatives from all levels and prioritise activity will help you thrive in this role.

Working arrangements

You will be based at Loughborough University London, Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London (E20 3BS), with occasional travel to the East Midlands campus in Loughborough and postgraduate recruitment events in the UK.

The University has Dynamic Working arrangements, where you will spend the majority of your time working from the London campus but, as a full-time member of staff, you can spend one or two days a week working from home.

Benefits

Your salary will be on Management & Specialist Grade 7, £44,414-£52,841 per annum + £3,417 London allowance. The confirmed 1 August pay award of c3% (dependent on pay point) will be applied to both the salary range and the London allowance.

Benefits of the role include 30 days holiday and an additional 14 statutory and customary days leave, support with purchasing an annual season ticket for travel, discounted gym membership, and access to many more employee benefits, from pensions to childcare.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion

The University is dedicated to supporting an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment – to create better futures, together.

The diverse backgrounds, characteristics and opinions within our community are our great strength and are key to our pursuit of delivering educational excellence, enterprise, research and professional services. We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds and minoritised groups as they are currently under-represented within our community.

We recognise the value of a fulfilling and balanced work and personal life which promotes wellbeing. We seek to support colleagues in achieving this balance and have family-friendly policies, flexible working arrangements and many roles can be suitable for dynamic working arrangement. This includes considering applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job-share basis wherever possible.

Recruitment process

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday 17 May.

Interviews will be in person at Loughborough University London on Wednesday 7 June.
