Job description
The Role:
- Carry out checks of forklifts, shunter and company equipment as required and complete each step on the inspection sheet before using the truck. Identify and report faulty equipment, damage and safety concerns immediately to transport/despatch department.
- Ensure that you operate the forklift truck in accordance with your forklift training, performing all duties as per standard operating procedures, as trained in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure that you operate a Clean As You Go Policy at all times and the production area is clear from both produce and equipment and that stores and forklift trucks are kept clean (forklifts cleaned without the use of power hoses) and in a tidy condition at all times.
- Ensure raw material, finished produce, pallets and bins are cleared and appropriately stored, stacked in designated areas at all the time and appropriately labelled.
- To complete all paperwork and records as required.
- To work on any area within the business as required by Management, including but not exclusively: Production, Yard, Warehouse, Despatch and Goods In.
- Loading and unloading of lorries, vehicles, etc., check and record weight of products when required as per training.
- Adhere to Health & Safety, Food Safety and Allergen Procedures, ensuring that appropriate and correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn and that high standards of hygiene are observed at all times.
- Report to supervisor before leaving for the day.
- Ensure compliance with all other Company policies and procedures.
- To carry out any other duties commensurate with his/her training and experience that may be required by Management for the efficient running of the business
Forklift Licence and electric pallet truck would be desirable, however full training will be provided.

Salary: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
