Logistics Operations Manager
Role based out of Glasgow or Edinburgh
Background:
The Scotch and European Spirits categories are two of our biggest and most important categories. As Logistics Operations Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the Team Leaders and MSO populations in Scotland and Santa Vittoria (Italy), servicing all cased goods and bulk movements.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting into the GBS Logistics Director, you will maintain, develop and lead a cohesive international group of Team Leaders. You will coordinate market supply activity across geographies, and bring alignment to operational and project teams so that all short term tactical and long term strategic goals are met.
You will ensure that our customers get the right products on time in full first time, every time, safely and in the most cost effective way – never missing the opportunity to delight our customers, every day. On top of ensuring continually brilliant execution, you will have a drive and focus on digitalisation and productivity.
Top Accountabilities
- Overall accountability for order management control and delivery through shipping network in line with customer Incoterms
- Culture & Capability – Continue to build a hub of excellence in logistics Order Management where our teams feel valued and empowered every day to deliver
- Capability - Identify and enable process improvement activity utilising automation & cross category standardisation
- Customer – Drive highly efficient order execution process to ensure on time in full delivered service metrics are achieved or exceeded for all of our markets
- Customer – Responsible for market engagement and driving logistics visibility
- Cash – Execute orders in line with global policy to accurately recognise revenue
- Cost – Carrier Allocation – Ensure controls in place to direct and manage teams ability to adhere to carrier allocation and action plan accordingly on insights where off track due to demand; carrier ability to provide etc
- Cost - Optimise container fill
- Carbon Engage, support, plan & deliver against our Society 2030 and carbon journey objectives
- Engaging with Primary Logistics Partners across a complex network that today spans Scotland, with links to all major UK ports and Santa Vittoria (Italy) to enable service delivery
- Leading tier structure across Logistics to drive core KPIs and performance
- Representing order management in category tier and performance reviews (supply reviews, tier 5s)
- Collaborate with Plan for one message to markets across escalations & interventions
- Focus on standardised WOW with other categories
- Rigorously drive productivity agenda for Logistics
- Digital: lead the development of best in class digital solutions with the key focus on: Solution automation, Artificial intelligence solution capability, Dashboard analytics and Maximisation of value from existing platforms
What we are looking for:
- Considerable experience of driving complex logistics operations, from a complex environment. We are open to your industry, although we are seeking synergies between consumer packaged goods/CPG and your background.
- Utilising advanced supply chain/logistics methodology and implementation.
- High commercial acumen, able to connect current performance to specific maturity stages through awareness of planning issues and opportunities. Recognizes how to address key opportunities based on business planning maturity.
- Key influencing skills, establish relationships with teams within supply planning and external functions. Proven ability to impact and influence, at a senior stakeholder level, influencing & communication skills.
- Effective Communication, create a compelling improvement and adoption roadmap that brings teams along, adapt influencing and communication style for the intended audience (complexity, detail, altitude). Presents material in a clear confident manner & manages non-verbal communication, in service to message.
