The Bread and Butter of the Position:
Warehouse and distribution play a key role in fulfilling commitments to our customers through the organization, storage, and distribution of goods. This role ensures that the right products are delivered to the right location on time every time and at a good cost. The W&D Manager is also involved in the transportation of product, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. This role is responsible to monitor and engage with Supervisors to ensure safety, efficiency and accuracy. Driver’s equipment, and it’s availability and maintenance falls under the purview of the Warehouse and Distribution Manager. Overseeing the receiving, storage, internal shipping and distribution functions within Portofino Bakery.
Understanding the whole supply chain is important in order to coordinate effectively and liaise with production, logistics, procurement and QA/QC.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Distribution programs
- Oversee the DSD teams, ensuring all compliance, productivity and equipment are managed effectively.
- Oversee all shipping and receiving functions between facilities.
- Oversee all warehouse activity.
- Analyze data and statistics to continually improve and optimize processes.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with all Portofino Bakery teams.
- Ensure safe work environment, following all OH&S regulations and best practices.
- Use IT systems effectively
- People leadership, with support from Human Resources including recruitment, training, staff development and progressive discipline.
- Enforce all Portofino bakery policies
- Special projects and/or tasks as assigned
The Ingredients You Bring to the Table:
- Minimum 5 years managerial experience
- Strong verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently, as well as in a group
- The ability to work on your feet for extended periods
- The ability to work in a clean, organized manner
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs
- A commitment to upholding company policies, compliance and quality standards
- A willingness to learn and grow
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is considered an asset
- Previous experience with HACCP is considered an asset
- Ability to travel when required
The Details You'll Loave:
- Starting salary between $75,000 – $90,000 a year, depending on experience
