Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location: Welwyn/Hatfield
Starting Salary: £43,516 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £48,587 (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 37 per week

We are actively recruiting for a Logistics Manager, which is an exciting new position within Hertfordshire Equipment Service.
Do you enjoy leading teams? Can you effectively oversee our Logistics Team which includes Customer Service and Fleet Operations teams.
This role plays a key part in the HES Management Team, leading teams to ensure the service provided is effective and is delivering positive outcomes. The Logistics Manager, based in our offices at Mundells, Welwyn Garden City, will have responsibility for quality assurance, resource allocation and managing performance to meet current KPIs.
The role holder will be expected to contribute to the transformational change of the service, supporting large scale projects and potentially leading and managing specific smaller projects.
The main area of responsibility is to provide leadership, managing the deployment of all logistical resources to ensure the team can respond with agility and flexibility to meet the needs of service users in a timely manner.
You will be required to plan, allocate and review workloads, manage priorities, implement, and improve systems and processes to ensure good quality services are delivered to the local community within set performance targets.
You will be part of the Senior Management Team, providing daily, weekly and monthly activity reports.
You will be responsible for the management of the recruitment process to ensure timely, effective, and appropriate recruitment to meet the needs of the team.
There are numerous projects that you will be involved with, this includes:
You will be expected to ensure that HES IT systems are used in accordance with GDPR and to aid operational decision making.
You will manage the training matrix for the Technicians, ensuring that all are compliant for the delivery and installation of equipment that is supplied to our service users. You will organise, external and internal training, providing costings to budget holders if necessary and communicate to teams when training is scheduled for.
You will be an integral part of the yearly stock take, organising counts and ensuring sheets are updated with new equipment.
Additional Information
You will be assessing new products with professionals and HES colleagues to see suitability for our service users.
Required Skills:
2 years (minimum) Managing a Logistics Team
Experience in taking a team through transformational changes
Experience in managing training for individual teams
Desired
Knowledge and experience working with a bespoke online ordering system
Knowledge and experience working with SAP
Knowledge and experience working with adult and children’s daily living equipment including bespoke items
This is a great opportunity to join Hertfordshire Equipment Service who is currently going through some significant changes. (This role being one of them).
The role will be busy and there is a varied workload, a variety of teams to manage, and being a integral part of the Senior Management team to implement changes and processes successfully.
