ROLE OVERVIEW: Working with one of the country’s largest event caterers the Events Logistics Manager will lead from the front, playing a key role in every aspect of Absolute Taste events and fixed site business, from the initial brief through to on site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Logistic Manager with a passion in delivering unique and expiring events.
International travel will be required. International travel will be paid for by Absolute Taste.
Event experience is essential.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
As the Events Logistics Manager you will:
General
- Work in a companywide role with working closely with all members of the Events departments on all logistical aspects of their prospective events
- Key focus on large scale green field events and large-scale operations both domestically and internationally.
- To actively seek logistical efficiencies both in terms of financial cost effectiveness and practical operations
- Ensure that all applicable legislation (Health & Safety, Hygiene etc.) for a modern Event business are up to date / adhered to and that any violations are reported to the business
- Assist in Business Development and in particular establishing most efficient logistical delivery
- Assist designated Event Manager/Project Lead in determining accurate, cost effective and realistic budgets
- Aid and assist on any other specific projects or activities as directed by either your line manager or the Senior Leadership Team
Pre-Event
- Work with the Event Manager when necessary to make sure CAD Plans and all service provisions are in place for each and every event (Water / Waste/ Power / Rubbish / Plant etc.)
- Identifying local suppliers for heavy and light equipment in international markets
- Planning routing and if required storage for all assets between events in international markets
- Identifying efficiencies in equipment utilisation to reduce expenditure on equipment rental.
On-Event
- Provide clear and detailed briefings prior to the start of events ensuring the whole event team has all the information they require and fully understand the objectives and standards for the events
- Oversee the event set ups to ensure everything is in place to execute the events to a 1st class standard, ensuring all logistics elements, Food safety standards and H&S compliance are professionally delivered
- Maintain regular contact with on-site event team including Event Manager, Logistics and BOH teams to ensure all issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
Post-Event
- Oversee post-event breakdowns, ensuring the site is left clean and tidy; all hire equipment is returned; all waste disposed of in compliance with event regulations; vehicles are cleaned, secured and relocated;
- Through the department provide on-going intelligence/data/information that can be used by other departments in order to make more informed decisions
- Form part of post event de brief meetings and ensure on-going intelligence and data is implemented and shared
- Assist Event Manager with consolidation accounts and budget reconciliation
Personnel Development and Management
- Ensure provision of appropriate learning, development and mentoring support and an established training plan and progress review structure is in place for individual persons and the team as a whole
- Develop a committed and focused team with individuals who are energised and motivated to perform to a consistently high standard to include managing and mentoring junior team members

Skills/Qualifications
- Fully conversant with Food Safety and H&S requirements
- First class communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
- FLT licenses
- Full UK driving licence
The Role
- £35-£38,000 per annum DOE
- Reporting to Head of Logistics
