Transport Operations Manager

Job Overview

This role supports our Transport Ops Manager and our Warehouse and Workshop teams with the day to day delivery of TRO’s transport, operator crew, warehouse and workshop services. Initially a support role but with the opportunity to learn about the exciting world of event logistics incorporating transport, crew and event planning. You will gain full knowledge of our operational services, particularly transport and scheduling functions, whilst also understanding how we plan our world class events.

This role would suit someone who is highly organised, a great administrator and has an interest in transport, logistics and/or events.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Communication - Excellent communicator. Confident to deal with clients, colleagues and suppliers alike. Understand correct method of communication i.e. email, phone, face to face. Ability to create good written word as well as verbalising effectively. Keep your Manager/Director appraised at all times. Take an active part in team meetings, company meetings and other forums.

Highly organised with great time management skills and great ability to prioritise and manage your own job list. Ability to multi task and manage your own time and understand how to prioritise

Working style - Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Have excellent attention to detail. Be keen to learn and to take on new things

Presentation – Set example by always using a professional tone on the phone and in emails. Always represent TRO in a professional way both internally and externally with clients/colleagues/suppliers.

Systems and procedures - Understand and follow best practice documents/templates. – IBIS, internal business systems. Fully conversant with MS office products.

Financial – Specify, negotiate and agree costs and payment terms with all suppliers. Understand how we budget for transport and logistics elements so that you can manage costs appropriately.

Health and Safety – Have good understanding of HS regulations and all managed risks in the logistical, warehouse and workshop environments. Attend in house HS training session

Driving – ideally hold a full clean driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £21,500.00-£22,000.00 per year
