Job description
Position Title: Trucking Logistics Coordinator
Maxx North America Services Ltd., one of Alberta’s most progressive and innovative pipeline and water management service companies, is looking to hire a logistics coordinator to work within our growing Trucking division. This opportunity represents a compelling career challenge for candidates to work with our internal Pipeline and Water Management Divisions to provide services to our valued clients across western Canada.
The ideal candidate will work closely with our Project Managers to plan and organize trucking services for their projects. The successful candidates will become a key contributor to the ongoing growth of the organization. The role is based in Edmonton, Alberta.
Position Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing the coordination of transportation, inventory, and distribution of equipment. They will work closely with the Operations team to ensure that all equipment is delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining MAXX quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate truck drivers according to availabilities and carrier profile requirements;
· Coordinate the shipment and equipment and materials to work sites and vendors;
· Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and other logistics providers;
· Assist in development and negotiating rates and contracts with carriers and logistics providers;
· Responsible for renewing and reporting IFTA and Prorate for all trucks in the fleet;
· Manage all required permits for trucks travelling across Canada and cross border to the USA;
· Track shipments and ensure that they are delivered on time and in the correct quantity;
· Manage the logistics budget and ensure that all expenses are within budgetary constraints;
· Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline the logistics process.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience in logistics or transportation coordination;
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously, with little supervision;
· Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements;
· Previous customer service experience;
· Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities;
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software programs
