Job description
The post holder will support the Pharmacy Distribution & Receipt teams and support the Governance & Safety of the Logistics section, also being the lead on Health & Safety. To support the Senior and Chief Technicians to ensure Logistics section runs efficiently and is service focussed. Assisting in the planning, supervision & prioritisation of daily workload within the section, assist in producing and co-ordination of rotas to ensure adequate staffing and skill mix.
Pharmacy Logistics have an exciting opportunity for pharmacy assistants to apply for the role Lead Senior Assistant. The role has been developed to support the day to day operational function of Logistics but also providing support and guidance with Health & Safety aspects of Pharmacy stores and to be involved with governance.

Stores Distribution & Receipt Services
Participate in the day-to-day delivery of the service, ensuring daily and weekly rotas are prepared for the staff.
Participate in the topping-up service to wards and departments, liaising with Divisional Pharmacists and Ward Managers as required regarding stock lists.
Participate in the supply and distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments by preparing ward stock orders.
Participate in the final checking of requisitions and ward orders and the first line check of TTO over labelled products.
Participate in the goods receipts and returns processes and the transportation of products using the electric truck or forklift when necessary.
Health & Safety, Audits and Compliance
Co-ordinate and participate in the departmental quarterly and annual Health & Safety walkabouts with the Chief & Senior Technicians. Assist in the resolution of any non-compliant issues identified, supporting any action plans.
Identify and reporting on any health and safety issues in the pharmacy stores.
To be a fire warden for pharmacy stores, completing monthly check lists and attending refresher training as advised by the Trust.
To be a first aider for pharmacy stores.
To be a hand hygiene assessor, completing staff inspections and training &assessment on hand hygiene in compliance with infection control.
