RWG is the leading global provider of approved maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Siemens-Energy industrial aero-derivative gas generators and power turbines. We are authorised to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Rolls-Royce marine gas turbines used for marine propulsion.

Due to an internal promotion, a vacancy has arisen within the Purchasing & Logistics Department for a Logistics Co-ordinator. The successful candidate will be based at Dyce, Aberdeen and may also work under our hybrid model and will report to the Purchasing & Logistics Manager. The primary function will be to support the Logistics team to arrange transportation (local, national and International) in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with Company procedures and both UK and overseas country specific requirements.

Job Description:

  • Provide an efficient service to both customers and all RWG departments.
  • Plan workload to ensure deadlines are met and queries are followed up.
  • Maintain filing (scanning) and tidy workplace to ensure full traceability.
  • Work in accordance with RWG procedures and guidelines.
  • Carry out all work in accordance with RWG’s Shipping procedures as well as those of HM Revenue & Customs and The Department for Transport/Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Ensure that all transportation is carried out in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Be aware of Health & Safety issues in the workplace, including that of Contractors and highlight any concerns.
  • Communicate effectively within the department and provide support and assistance to other staff/customers/suppliers where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and meet HMRC reporting deadlines.
  • Actively highlight an improvement opportunity that may contribute to ensuring the safety of our people, improve quality standards and take care of the environment.
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required to meet the needs of the business.
  • There may be a need to work out with normal working hours to meet the needs of the business.

Experience:

  • An extensive knowledge of HM Revenue & Customs procedures, in particular Inward and Outward Processing Reliefs and a similar knowledge of Trade Compliance, along with an understanding of Department for Transportation/CAA Aviation Security Regulations.
  • Experience of multi-mode transportation requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of International shipping including the operation of documentary letter of credits.
  • Good organisational skills and be able to organise time effectively to ensure that Company deadlines are met.
  • Good communication skills, as frequent communication is required, both verbal and written, with internal employees, external vendors and customers both in the UK and overseas.
  • Important to remain helpful and professional at all times.
  • Be able to work on own initiative.
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Driving Licence.
