The Logistics Department is responsible to report profit and loss to Head Office for all inland moves within Canada and cross border. To properly forecast upcoming volume and create visibility on potential issues and communicate accordingly internally on best action plan for: MSC Canada’s primary asset – their containers – is effectively tracked and allocated to meet customer demands across Canada. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective container management, maintenance, reporting and forecasting.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordination of evacuation execution with Network Planning Team
- Oversight on execution strategies and volumes
- Coordination with key partners on weekly volumes
- Issue & resolution management related to weekly volumes
- Follow up with Network Planning team and vendors weekly plans
- Tracking on
- Follows through on weekly & monthly action plan to ensure network remains fluid
- Continuously ensures targets regarding overall velocity and dwell times in Canada are constantly met
- Communicates proactively with internal and external stakeholders of potential issues
- Identify, present, and materialize improvements for overall department efficiency, processes, cost structure and systems
- Monitor and Track EDI Quality of all partners
- Weekly & Monthly reporting

- Experience in Logistics (Intermodal - Asset/Inventory Management) 1-2 years’ experience
- Experience that involves Logistics or Supply chain. Min experience of 1 year in the industry
- Experience in managing containerized cargo movement, min experience of 1 year
- Ability to work under pressure, creativity and proactiveness
- Efficient in performing tasks and absorbing knowledge and processes quickly
- Optimization and analytical skills
- Process oriented
- Proactive nature
- Creative solutions, outside of the box thinker
- Computer Skills: Excel (advanced), Power BI and Access (an asset)
- Strong communication skills; English (advanced), French an asset
