Job description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle FCL/LCL Ocean Import Customs Release. Track and trace shipments to final destinations, including audit invoice, cost, arrange delivery, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Handle and resolve all issues with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Ocean import shipments.
  • Good knowledge of North America logistics.
  • Sense of responsibility.
  • Experience coming from a very fast paced environment.
  • Experience coming from a high volume email a day environment and knowing how to prioritize.
  • Strong time management, able to prioritize tasks, communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality service for our customers by understanding their needs and requirements .
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in 3PL environment; with proven skills in the following:

  • Coordinating all aspects of shipment process, including booking, manifest, Bills of Lading and billing.
  • Reviewing all shipment documentation to confirm accuracy and perform data input to open file.
  • Ensuring all client special instructions are followed.
  • Assist other team members as needed to ensure timely completion of work
  • Maintaining effective relationship with clients and answer general inquiries regarding shipment status.
  • Tracking status with truckers & ocean and air carriers and keeping clients/agents advised of status.
  • Follow ups on client’s reports.
  • Performing billing functions including preparing client invoices and all required support documents.
  • Maintaining customer profiles.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Experience handling Ocean and Air shipments is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proven experience in freight brokerage sales, with a desire to grow professionally.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Team Player.
  • Strong computer skills.
