Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle FCL/LCL Ocean Import Customs Release. Track and trace shipments to final destinations, including audit invoice, cost, arrange delivery, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Handle and resolve all issues with clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in Ocean import shipments.
- Good knowledge of North America logistics.
- Sense of responsibility.
- Experience coming from a very fast paced environment.
- Experience coming from a high volume email a day environment and knowing how to prioritize.
- Strong time management, able to prioritize tasks, communication skills.
- Ability to provide quality service for our customers by understanding their needs and requirements .
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in 3PL environment; with proven skills in the following:
- Coordinating all aspects of shipment process, including booking, manifest, Bills of Lading and billing.
- Reviewing all shipment documentation to confirm accuracy and perform data input to open file.
- Ensuring all client special instructions are followed.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure timely completion of work
- Maintaining effective relationship with clients and answer general inquiries regarding shipment status.
- Tracking status with truckers & ocean and air carriers and keeping clients/agents advised of status.
- Follow ups on client’s reports.
- Performing billing functions including preparing client invoices and all required support documents.
- Maintaining customer profiles.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years related experience.
- Experience handling Ocean and Air shipments is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
- Proven experience in freight brokerage sales, with a desire to grow professionally.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Team Player.
- Strong computer skills.
