Job description
The selected candidate will perform various logistical tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of communication systems supportability and/or maintainability programs and information systems for Aviation Solutions Division. Works on logistic and maintainability efforts on issues such as: technical evaluation and identification of communication systems logistics requirements and resources; development of logistics support and maintainability programs or plans; systems acquisition requirements analysis; budgetary or financial analysis and control; life cycle cost analysis and control; communication systems hardware and software standardization and compatibility; and Integrated Logistics support (ILS). Collects, compiles, analyzes, investigates, researches or applies logistics, maintenance, acquisition, or financial data and information. Attends meeting with customers and presents information related to program logistics topics. Responsible for maintaining baseline of materials (BOM), researching statuses, and reporting to project manager and customers. Works with vendors to acquire price and lead time on both regularly procured material and hard to find/end of life material.
This is a full time, onsite position at a BAE Systems location, however occasional travel to NAWCAD WOLF Webster Field for on-site customer meetings will be required.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in a Business or Logistics field and some related experience OR Associate degree and at least 2 years of related experience OR High School diploma and at least 6 years of related experience
At least one year of logistics experience supporting electronic systems
Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD CAC (Common Access Card)
Ability to obtain/maintain the required security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
1-2 years of prior experience
Aptitude to quickly learn, fully understand, and effectively use: OEM/MFG vendor websites, Haystack/IHS NSN research tools, etc.
Aptitude to quickly learn, fully understand, and effectively use source documents: engineering drawings, change orders, BOMs, DLA drawings, OEM/MFG vendor drawings, etc.
Competence at a demonstrated high level of proficiency and experience with: MS Office software products - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; Adobe software products - Acrobat Reader and Adobe Professional
