Job description

Experienced Logistics Administrator required for a successful, multi-million-pound distribution company based in Sheffield. Established over 20 years they have recently developed various new high-quality products that represent excellent value for money to compliment their existing range.

Responsibilities

  • Making bookings for the delivery or orders to customers, and arranging transport with chosen hauliers to ensure these on time delivery.
  • Putting together runs of deliveries for local transport.
  • Working with the warehouse team to ensure all orders are picked and loaded on time for collection.
  • Quickly dealing with any issues raised by the Sales Office, including arranging collection of returns, investigating pick errors, processing paperwork for deliveries outside the UK, requesting PODs, etc.
  • Ensuring adherence to customer requirements on pallet type, pallet height, pallet and product labels, etc.
  • Confirming picks on all orders, paying attention to customer’s paperwork requirements if applicable
  • Attending weekly Operations meetings.
  • Confirming CHEP movements on the CHEP website.
  • Ensure small parcel orders are ready for daily collection.
  • Keep a regular check on warehouse consumables, ordering replenishments when required.
  • When required, working in the warehouse assisting with picking orders, reworking stock, palletising goods, loading trailers, unloading containers, etc.
  • Produce various weekly and monthly on sales orders, transport costs, picking performance, etc.
  • Arranging for stock to be delivered back to us from storage, ensuring we have sufficient stock levels for upcoming orders.
  • Ensuring we are sticking to daily/weekly/monthly delivery targets.

Requirements and skills

  • Work experience as a Logistics Administrator or similar role
  • Knowledge of logistics software or transport management systems
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Good communication skills

Working hours: Monday to Friday. This will be between 7am and 5pm, with exact hours to be confirmed. Some overtime outside these hours occasionally will be required. This will be either after 5pm, weekends, or bank holidays. Some working off site may also be occasionally required.

The starting salary will be around £29,000 per year, with a salary review every January after completing your first full year.

Holiday entitlement is 22 days per year, plus 8 stats.

There will be a probationary period of 3 months from the start date, at which point there will be a performance review.
