In short, your role within Jungheinrich will play a crucial part in providing the customer with complete peace of mind in managing their intra-company logistics.


The Role

  • To be responsible for the Maintenance, repair and on-going technical support of customers' site
  • ASRS solutions (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems) & ancillary equipment
  • Pallet & Tote conveyors and associated control equipment
  • Automatic doors and associated controls
  • Safety & security systems associated with Automated equipment
  • Smooth operation and monitoring of complete system
  • Providing constructive feedback on operation and potential improvements
  • Champion Health, Safety & Environmental standards of both Jungheinrich and customers sites, ensuring at all times an approach of safety first is adopted.

Role Responsibilities

  • Proactively complete tasks and self-manage
  • Responsible for spare parts stock control
  • Responsible for identifying equipment reliability and areas that can be improved.
  • To undertake repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
  • To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
  • To accurately record all work undertaken
  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
  • To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company
  • Communicate effectively with Line Managers
  • Any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of this role
  • Provide 24 / call out cover (only if site not working 24/7) as part of call out rota
  • Hands on ownership of issues to achieve a quick time resolution
  • Maintain company tools, manuals and all other company property in good and clean order
  • Deputise for Site Manager, if required
  • Prepare and participate in the creation of method statements and risk assessments

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Area Service Manager such as call out and working outside of normal working hours (please note that this list is not exhaustive)


Person Requirements

  • Proven background in the maintenance and repair of automated / semi-automated intra logistic systems
  • Strong background in Engineering
  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
  • A knowledge of PLC equipment & related software
  • Excellent PC literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Health and Safety experience
  • Physically fit and ability to work at height

Desirable Experience

  • Technical knowledge Asi, profi-bus, profinet and can-bus systems
  • Previous experience of working with pallet cranes
  • Previous experience of working with pallet conveyor & connected systems
  • Previous experience of working with tote conveyor & connected systems
  • Full understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules & procedures
  • Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
  • Leadership Skills
  • Knowledge of Beckhoff / Siemens S7 PLCs
  • IOSH minimum
  • ONC (or equivalent) in Engineering
  • Technical knowledge of Inverters
