Camplings Limited is a commercial laundry, predominantly operating a Linen hire and workwear rental operation, with a customer base spread across Norfolk and Suffolk. Camplings is a family business, which has been operating in the region for over 100 years.
A key part of our operation is running our own fleet, in order to deliver and collect linen and workwear. Due to retirement, we are recruiting for an experienced Logistics Manager, to lead and support our logistics operation at our Great Yarmouth Laundry. You will be joining a solid, established, and secure business.
Logistics Manager Responsibilities
Leading the logistics operation for our Great Yarmouth factory- Managing, motivating and supporting the Great Yarmouth Driver team
- Ensuring that Drivers are appropriately qualified and trained for the role
- Co-ordinating with the commercial and production teams to ensure a smooth logistics operation, balancing both customers and business needs.
- Ensuring sufficient vehicles and drivers to meet the business’s logistics demands.
- Managing the Great Yarmouth Logistics budgets and expenditures
- Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers
- Co-ordinate the Great Yarmouth commercial vehicle fleet
- Managing the recruitment, on-boarding and development of new drivers
- Assessing, developing and optimising the logistics function, in conjunction with overall business goals and values.
- Ensuring compliance with industry laws and regulations and company policies
- Investigating and resolving complaints and issues regarding logistics
Qualifications and Experience:
Logistics Manager
Proven extensive experience working in a logistics team and be used to working in a fast-paced logistics environment.- Excellent planning, communication and organisational skills
- Experience of managing a team
Ideally the candidate will:
Have experience of logistics within a manufacturing or production environment.- Be CPC qualified, with a clean driving licence.
- Be comfortable preparing, analysing and reacting to KPI reports.
- Be a member of a relevant transport / logistics body or organisation, such as The Chartered Institute of Logistics &Transport
Location: Great Yarmouth
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 45 hours per week
Salary up to £44,000 depending on experience
