We are now recruiting for an exciting new post in the Place and Sustainability Division.
This is temporary post, grant aided by Welsh Government until March 2025. It is expected that WG will announce further funding to support the continuation of this post at that time. This post with be in the Council’s Place and Sustainability Division.
This is a new post that will deliver nature-based projects in Carmarthenshire designed to make the places where we live, work and access public services more biodiverse. We have already delivered a range of projects across the county both on Council land, and with partners such as University of Wales Trinity St David. In 2023 and 2024 we will continue this, and you will be responsible for ensuring these are delivered in line with the grant requirements.
Effective partnership working will be key to the success of this, and we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person, with outstanding communication skills who can work with others to deliver these and develop new projects for delivery in future years, as well as manage the quarterly grant claim process.
In addition, you will need set up a Local Places for Nature partnership in the county, to include a range of members from communities to public bodies to provide a forum for sharing experience and ideas on how to create and restore nature where people live, work, and learn.
The post will be based in the Rural Conservation Section, in the Council’s Place and Sustainability Division.
You will be part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team which covers ecology, landscape biodiversity, trees, woodland, and common land.
The post is part of an all-Wales Welsh Government funded Local Places for Nature programme and the post holder will be part of the wider network of similar officers across Wales sharing knowledge and experience that will support project delivery.
You will need a good level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
