Parent Zone is a social enterprise that sits at the heart of modern family life, providing advice, knowledge and support to shape the best possible future for children as they embrace the online world. We bridge the gaps between parents, policy and platforms, providing insights and knowledge in order to shape a better future for all.
Since 2005 we have worked with partners such as Google, Children in Need and the DCMS to develop innovative projects, giving families information, support and advice.
We are optimistic about the future while recognising the challenges families face in bringing up children in a digital world - challenges we seek to ameliorate.
Our Local Guides play a key role in delivering our work including our Parent Zone Local programme which delivers an innovative approach to media literacy and online safety at a local level by blending national delivery with local expertise.
The role
● You will deliver support to families and the professionals that work with them in your local community through a range of different settings and mediums.
● You will lead on community building at a local level bringing innovative ideas to drive collaboration.
● You will work with colleagues by providing feedback from frontline delivery to develop projects that meet the needs of families.
● You will enjoy working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and will be able to adapt your approach to suit their needs.
● You will understand parenting support and what works in parenting and be able to explain that to all of our audiences including colleagues and partners.
● You will represent Parent Zone and its projects at local events and be able to confidently articulate our mission, values and objectives.
Skills and Competencies
● You will have a good understanding of family support and working with parents and the professionals that support them.
● You will be skilled at delivering training to a range of audiences including children, parents and professionals.
● You will have excellent communication, planning, time management and organisational skills.
● You will be an enthusiastic communicator and networker with the ability to build relationships and nurture partnerships.
● You will be happy to travel as needed to deliver training and be comfortable delivering digitally.
● You will have a pre-existing right to work in the UK
● A DBS check will be required for this role.
Our ideal candidate will care about improving outcomes for children and understand why good enough parenting is so important. You will have a deep interest in the role of technology and the impacts - positive and negative - it can have on children and families. Your positive attitude will enthuse our audiences and bring the work we do to the people who need it.
This is a part time position of 3 days per week. We are specifically looking for candidates in the following areas; Calderdale, Croydon, Middlesbrough and Redbridge. To apply, please send your cover letter and CV.
