THIS IS A PHYSICAL JOB! NO TOUCH FREIGHT! Drivers will transport fallen logs to mills. Driver will monitor the weight via onboard, scale them, then communicate to the loader when trailer has achieved the legal weight, will then secure the logs by strapping and then will flag the overhanging logs per DOT requirement. TO APPLY, CALL TODD (404) 665-3614 QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Class A driver's license Must be 21 years old or older Clean MVR driving record DOT Medical card No experience needed Able to pass a hair follicle drug test NOT SAP DRIVER Driver will be responsible for operating a tractor and bolster trailer picking up at logging sites. This involves unpaved roads and working in the elements. Driver will be responsible for strapping down the logs and flagging the overhang along with the safe operation of the vehicle under load while on rural back roads and State highways with final delivery at the customers mill(s). Driver must be able to follow written directions and read a paper map without the use of turn-by-turn navigation. Applicant must be able to demonstrate this ability in person if needed. Uniform: Over the ankle lace up steel toe boots along with hard hat and reflective safety vest must always be worn during pickup and delivery. Driver does not load or unload but must always remain with the truck. Average load time is 30 minutes, unload time on average is 30 minutes. HIGHLIGHTS: Driver will be delivering to the customers various mills and will be checked in and weighed upon entering the mill then drive to the designated location within the mill and remove the strapping and flags then proceed to the final unloading location. Driver will be operating in off road conditions which will be unpaved muddy, sandy and not always clearly marked and will need to know how to maneuver in these harsh conditions. Drivers on this local job will operate in AR, OK, TX and LA. Schedule: Monday – Friday with Saturday rotation Shift Time: 0500 - 1800 Work day on average 12 to 14 hour days.
